Instructions
Note: Keyboard modifiers are only active when the mouse is inside the drawing area unless a zone is currently being drawn.
Drawing
- Select a zone type to draw (Rectangle, Ellipse or Polygon)
- You will continue to draw zones of the selected type until the type is changed
- Draw perfect squares/circles by pressing and holding Shift while drawing
Select
The select tool is used for selecting and modifying zones.
Basic Selection
- Click a single zone to select it or click & drag to select multiple
- Hold Shift to constrain the selection to a square
- Hold Control to add unselected zones to the selection and/or remove selected zones from the selection
- Select all zones in the drawing area by pressing Control + a
Move Zones
- Click and drag a selected zone to move it (and any other zones currently selected) within the drawing area
Delete Zones
- Press Delete to delete selected zones
Duplicating Zones
- First select the zones you want to duplicate. Then hold Shift and click a selected zone and drag the mouse
Zone Managers
This demo is using 3 zone managers:
- Regular zones - Zones that are drawn manually will be added to the "Regular" zone manager
- Cloned zones - Zones that are cloned (by selecting and Shift+Dragging) will be added to the "Clones" zone manager
- Custom zones - To add zones to this manager select 1 or more zones and drag them to the blue drop pad. The cursor will change to indicate you can drop zones here.
Click the radio button for each zone manager to select zones belonging to that manager.
Misc. Notes
- This example has the zone labels set to display random percentages. The label can be custom formatted or hidden.
- The style for selected zones can be custom styled. This example simply darkens the fill color and increases line weight.
- Zones
have a zone manager used to group and perform actions on certain zones.
For example you might have a zone manager for saved zones and one for
unsaved zones. Prezone/postzone etc.
